This is a tip for GKF 1200 / 1500 & DMW 1500 / 2000 capsule fillers.
The springs on the upper segment carriers can easily be installed incorrectly, resulting in premature failure. An illustration of the correct and incorrect orientation of these springs is below. Or, click this link to an informational flyer.
The pictures in this post show both the correct and incorrect way to install the upper segment carrier springs. Specifically, pay attention to the positioning of the upper loop of the springs, which are circled in the pictures. Note that the correct way positions the upper loop of the spring parallel with the front of the carrier. This may require that the spring be twisted slightly prior to hooking the top loop in order to accomplish this.
The incorrect way positions the upper loop of the spring perpendicular with the front of the carrier. This incorrect position can cause the upper loop of the spring to contact the upper segment cam, resulting in the spring failing prematurely.
